4. Computer Science Vision

The supply of domestic information technology talent plays a crucial role in our department. Since its establishment, the number of alumni has exceeded ten thousand. The alumni association is well-organized and provides frequent assistance to graduates of our department. After graduation, some choose to pursue further studies abroad or apply for domestic graduate programs for continued education. Some join public or private institutions, while others engage in teaching and educational work at higher education institutions. There are even many who self-fund and establish computer companies, dedicating themselves to software and hardware research and development.

Our graduates possess professional skills, problem-solving abilities, communication and expression skills, teamwork, and professional ethics that meet the demands of employers. The educational mission of our department is to promote information technology education and cultivate high-level information technology professionals for national and social development. Accordingly, the following educational objectives have been formulated:

Most graduates from our department excel in both academic and industry fields, pursuing careers in various industries, including:

Technology Industry: Computer system integration services, computer software-related, networking-related, semiconductor manufacturing, gaming and entertainment, optoelectronics-related, telecommunications-related, multimedia-related, and more.

Research Institutions: Research positions in both public and private research institutions such as Academia Sinica, Institute for Information Industry (III), Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) - Cloud Computing Center, Institute for Information Industry (III), and more.

Academic Institutions: Teaching positions in relevant departments and research institutes in universities.

Not only are Tamkang's alumni in the academic and corporate sectors widespread, but we also provide diverse internship opportunities for undergraduate students. This allows students to apply what they learn and gain an understanding of the current state of the information industry during their studies.

Companies that have signed internship agreements with our department include Shentong Information Technology Co., Ltd., NetsSoft Co., Ltd., Systex Corporation, China Life Insurance Co., Ltd., Bo Howe Technology, Ray Shine Information Co., Ltd., Puhung Information Co., Ltd., Global Mall Network, Linsun Computer Co., Ltd., E.SUN Holdings - Yuanta Information, Carrefour Taiwan, Lián B?o Computer Company Limited (Hong Kong), and PowerInfo Security, totaling approximately 13 companies providing choices for students. We are gradually increasing our collaborations with other companies. 6. Exchange program with partner universities.

Our department maintains close collaborations with domestic industry and academia. We are also among the top universities in China in terms of internationalization. The list of international academic conferences organized by our department and the overseas scholars invited is extensive. These include the Cross-Strait Advanced Information Technology Symposium, AIFORUM, Cross-Strait Trilateral Symposium among three universities, Wannan-Taiwan Internet of Things Symposium, Future Computing Forum, and academic exchanges between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.

Through Tamkang University's study abroad program for third-year students and graduate student exchange program, students have numerous opportunities to engage in international academic activities, which enhance their professional knowledge and international perspectives. Additionally, we actively promote international exchange and learning programs, such as the selection of master's exchange students from Aizu University in Japan, exchange programs with Beijing Jiaotong University, dual-degree programs with Wayne State University in the United States for both undergraduate and graduate studies, and dual-degree programs with Queensland University of Technology in Australia.
